Magewell to intro 4K video capture card

June 2, 2017

Magwell plans to debut its Pro Capture SDI 4K Plus PCIe video capture card at Infocomm 2017. The tool is designed to capture 4K video at 60 frames per second, according to a press release.

The tool can capture 4K video over a dual link 6G-DSI, single-link 12G-SDI or a quad-link 3G-SDI connection. The 5.5-inch by 2.7-inch device is designed to fit in a variety of standard and specialized host system chassis, according to the release.

The device supports resolutions up to 4096 x 2160. Users can feed input video along with SDI-embedded audio into multiple software applications. Users can control each application's resolution, frame rate and video processing settings.

"The Pro Capture SDI 4K Plus is designed to give customers the best of all worlds, supporting the infrastructure simplicity of 12G-SDI while providing compatibility with cameras, broadcast systems and production gear that are not capable of single-link 12Gb/s connectivity," James Liu, vice president of engineering at Magewell, said in the release. "This flexibility is particularly valuable for video production professionals whose equipment may vary between projects, and for systems integrators or OEM developers wishing to offer their customers the most versatile, future-proof solutions."
