Magenta's Voyager takes top honors at 2010 AV Awards

October 12, 2010

Magenta Research announced today that its Voyager series took the top award as the 2010 Systems Product of the Year at the 2010 AV Awards announced last Friday, Oct. 8, during a gala held at London’s Radisson Blu Portman Hotel.

The AV Awards are hosted each year by AV Magazine and are judged by a lineup of independent judges who evaluate hundreds of applications across twenty-five categories to recognize and celebrate the year’s most significant contributions to the AV industry.

Magenta says it designed the Voyager series to meet the need for a cost-effective solution to simplify the integration of digital and analog video and peripheral signals into a single platform that supports HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection); is easy to scale, configure and install; and can be procured at an investment level close to the historical analog platform pricing. The Voyager series delivers high-resolution image quality and 24/7 reliability while providing advanced functionality and usability for digital signage and pro-AV systems integration, the company says.

Magenta also says its newly launched Voyager series is the world’s first all-format fiber optic signal distribution platform. The Voyager family is made up of an interoperable set of transmitters, receivers, distribution amplifiers and matrix switchers. When combined together, these components enable any end-to-end configuration for distribution of uncompressed video, audio, RS-232, IR and USB signals over fiber at distances up to 16.75 miles or 30 kilometers.
