Shoppers at the Mills at Jersey Gardens mall now will be able to learn about the past, present and future of the city of Elizabeth, New Jersey, through an interactive digital signage kiosk. The kiosk, developed by the Elizabeth Destination Marketing Organization, will allow users to explore the city, see its attractions and get free brochures, according to a report by NJ.com.

The major goal of the kiosk is to appeal to tourists, since 40 percent of all visitors to The Mills at Jersey Gardens are foreign travelers.

The kiosk, which is located in the food court at the mall, has two monitors, one 42-inch and one 36-inch touchscreen. The 42-inch monitor is designed to loop videos about Elizabeth's past, present and future. It showcases events such as the annual Tour de Elizabeth bike race and Portugal Day parade.

The 36-inch touchscreen allows visitors to visit EDMO's website GoElizabethNJ.com to receive information on the city. Users can also purchase tickets to shows, make reservations, obtain maps and other services.

"Anything that's going on in the city you'll find on our website," said Lauren Ferrigno, marketing coordinator for EDMO. "It's a medium for people to find something in town that suits their interest or surprise them with something they didn't even know was here."
