U.K.-based out-of-home advertising company JCDecaux announced its first HR appointment to its board with the hire of Natasha Adams as the company's HR director.
Adams has 13 years' experience in the media sector, and will sit on the board of JCDecaux UK, reporting directly to Co-CEO Philip Thomas, according to a company press release. She will play an integral role in JCDecaux's ongoing digital transformation strategy, which emphasizes the influence of digital expertise across its people and partners as key to JCDecaux's future, the release said.
Prior to freelancing for WPP's Hogarth Worldwide and Landor, the BBC, The Make-A-Wish Foundation and London South Bank University, Adams was HR director of the BBC's Digital and Strategy division where she supported the transformation of the BBC's digital media positioning. She developed its digital media operating model through a focus on workforce practices and structures as well as spearheading resource and talent management strategy, according to the release.
Previous posts included senior HR roles at MTV Networks, Viacom and Channel 5.
"We have focused on recruiting talent from the digital sector, such as the recent appointment of Mashable's Ben Maher and now also Natasha from the BBC," Thomas said. "Our Out-of-Home expertise paired with digitally-minded people from other parts of the industry provides us with different skillsets and works in line with our overarching digital transformation strategy."
"I am really excited to join the fantastic team at JCDecaux; a company that has shown itself to be ambitious, creative, innovative and values its people," Adams said. "Working at the BBC during its digital transformation as well as my vast media experience equipped me with the right skills and expertise to help JCDecaux on its journey."
