IRevo intros digital signage platform to use smart TVs as a media player

IRevo Multimedia Inc. recently announced its iRevo Digital Signage Platform and Apps that allow customers to use Google Android TV, nVidia Shield TV, Amazon Fire TV or Android tablets as a media player. The company is also now offering signage as a managed service, which includes software, content reviewing, publishing and player monitoring starting at $30 a month per display, according to a press release.

IRevo developed this tool due to increasingly lower prices for television displays and signage players. It also enables services such as curated content, live TV and mobile interactivity.

"We can implement an end-to-end solution at reduced costs with the use of signage players based on high performance SOCs running Android OS. This has enabled us to support peripherals like web cameras, HDMI input as-a-source, and other IoT sensors which can now enable a whole new class of applications that are simpler to deploy and operate," Dhimant Bhayani, founder and CEO of iRevo, said in the release.
