Internal communications software provider DeskAlerts announced that its internal communications software will now incorporate digital signage features.
In the past, DeskAlerts notifications were only able to target desktop and mobile devices running on Windows, OS X, Android and iOS operating systems. Now, the internal communications software will be compatible with any device capable of displaying a webpage, as a result of both client feedback and internal research, the company said. For workplaces wanting to heighten the effectiveness of corporate communication strategies in 2016, utilizing the new digital signage feature is a "must," DeskAlerts said.
The new digital signage features mark a new era of functionality for DeskAlerts clients. Rather than rely exclusively on smartphones and desktop computers, the digital signage features support communication via any Internet-compatible device, from smart TVs located in corporate boardrooms, electronic whiteboards in primary school classrooms, gaming consoles in staff rooms and informational panels in hospital wards, the company said.
"PCs and smartphones are the major forms of correspondence within contemporary corporate communication strategies, however that doesn't mean that alternatives aren't used," DeskAlerts Lead Developer Roman Toporkov said in the announcement. "Smart technology is becoming an increasingly popular feature in modern workplaces, with TVs, smartboards and digital informational panels rapidly gaining popularity. The new digital signage features embrace this trend, and ensure that modern workplaces can enjoy as much flexibility and functionality as possible when it comes to keeping employees in the loop."
