IntelliVision integrates cloud service to face recognition technology

August 3, 2018

IntelliVision recently upgraded its facial recognition technology by allowing it to run as a cloud-based service, in addition to edge devices and on-premise servers, according to a press release.

This technology can detect at least 10 faces with only 25 percent CUP usage on an Ambarella S5L-based camera.

"Face recognition is becoming a must-have security feature for smart homes and buildings, smart retail, transportation, access control and the gaming industry," Krishna Khadloya, vice president of engineering and products, IntelliVision, said in the press release. "Our face recognition now gives system integrators the flexibility to implement facial detection and recognition in the cloud, on servers, or at the edge, providing real-time results and reducing bandwidth usage."

IntelliVision also provides other video analytics solutions such as object classification, intelligent motion detection, license plate recognition and other services.
