Ibase intros rack-mounted network appliance

Ibase Technology USA has launched its FWA8708 1U rack-mountable network appliance, powered by 8th generation Intel Xeon/Core Processors. The device can offer higher scalability and performance for firewalls, VPN, load balancing and network security applications, according to a press release.

The appliance comes in two versions, the FWA8708-C with the Intel® C246 and FWA8708-H with the Intel H310 chipset.

The FWA8708-C comes with four DDR4-2666 modules to support up to 64 GB of system memory as well as six Intel i210 and two i210S Ethernet controllers and six GB Ethernet ports. The FWA-8708H comes with 32GB of RAM and six i211AT controllers with six GB Ethernet ports. Other features include:

• Four or two DDR4 DIMMs.
• Optional IPMI 2.0 module (for FWA8708-C only).
• Optional NIC slot (for FWA8708-C only).
• One Mini PCI-E slot and one M.2 slot.
