Ibase delivers network appliance powered by AMD EPYC processor

Ibase Technology Inc. recently released a network appliance based on the AMD EPYC Embedded 3000 Series processors. This device, called the FWA8000 1U, comes with the IBASE MBN806 motherboard powered by a 1.5 Giga Hertz eight-core EPYC Embedded 3201 system on a chip, according to a press release.

The device supports up to 64 GB of UDIMM or 128 GB of RDIMM DDR memory. It uses the Intel I210-AT Ethernet controller and two IC modules to handle two IBN cards for up to 16 GB Ethernet ports. Other features include:

  • Optional IPMI 2.0 module.
  • One M.2 slot.
  • Optional two hot swappable 2.5-inch drive bay.
  • PCIe(x8) slot.
  • Two USB 2.0 ports.
