IBASE announces CPU module with mini processor

IBASE Technology Inc. has unveiled its RM-N8MMI SMARC 2.0 CPU Module built with NXP ARM Cortex-A53 i.MX 8M Mini Quad 1.6Ghz industrial-grade processors, according to a press release.

The company built the solution for multimedia and IoT applications that need low power and high performance for transportation passenger information and entertainment systems. Features include:

  • Temperature operating range from -40 to 185-degrees Fahrenheit.
  • 2GB LPDDR4, 8GB eMMC on board.
  • 10-year life cycle.
  • Compliant with SMARC Version 2.0.

"The modular approach of the SMARC specification allows customers to take full advantage of the scalability benefit, optimized time-to-market and upgrade capability," Archer Chien, director of solution product planning department at IBASE, said in the release. "The cost-efficient RM-N8MMI offers a competitive advantage to our customers by reducing the total cost of ownership and lowering the lifecycle costs."
