IAdea reduces unused office space with digital signage check-in

IAdea is partnering with meeting room software company YArooms to develop a check-in digital signage solution for meeting rooms.

The solution is designed to reduce the number of meetings that are booked and then canceled, which leads to valuable rooms simply sitting in an unavailable limbo, according to a press release.

The companies integrated IAdea's 10-inch XDS-1078 tablet with YAroom's room signage client YArooms Door for this solution. It is built with a check-in policy that automatically kicks out a reservation unless the booker or one of the attendees checks-in at the beginning of the meeting, according to the release.

"We have long looked for digital signage optimized tablets that we can recommend to our customers to use for the YArooms Door app. IAdea's 10-inch XDS-1078 tablet is a good looking, performant and reliable choice that we gladly recommend," Dragos Badea, co-founder and general manager of YArooms, said in the release.

The two companies are also currently experimenting with near-field communication to enable the digital signboard to communicate directly with employee's NFC ID badges. This will allow businesses to enforce rules and collect analytics concerning the overall usage of meeting rooms.
