Houston Astros fans don't miss a play with digital menu boards

HOUSTON — Until now, fans waiting in lines to purchase concessions at games knew it meant possibly missing the play of the evening. But Noventri has provided a tasteful and dynamic solution with digital menu boards that also provide live video feeds of the game.

Minute Maid Park, located in Houston and home to the Houston Astros, opened its doors in 2000. The stadium is the first in Houston that has a retractable roof, a natural, grass playing field and many high-tech video boards throughout.

The stadium wanted menu boards in the food stands on the Club Level to reflect the same high-tech look as the rest of stadium so they turned to Aramark, the food services and facilities management contractor.

Aramark, of Philadelphia, Pa., understood that the stadium wanted menus that could be remotely and dynamically updated and offer live video feeds of games for the ultimate fan satisfaction. Aramark directed the stadium's attention toward Noventri of Smithsburg, Md.

"Aramark knew what the stadium wanted and they felt confident working with Noventri from past experience since we have proven that we can exceed their expectations with similar installs and technology," said Wil Conklin, sales director for Noventri.

Noventri's team created custom digital menu boards that list menu items, televise live video feeds of the game and show current scores and stats. The Noventri flat-panel menu boards are dynamic and have been fully integrated with Astros databases so that any changes in pricing or offerings are immediately reflected on the screens.   Noventri worked side-by-side with Minute Maid Park and Aramark to achieve the best viewing angles of the menu boards and to create the stadium's content for the screens using the Astros logo and colors. Noventri continues to manage the Minute Maid Park menu content remotely, assuring that the Astros' menus are always fresh and appealing throughout the season.
