Brookings S.D.-based Daktronics Inc. recently installed its Valo OT (optimized technology) digital billboard product at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Mich.
Home to the Detroit Pistons and a venue for numerous non-sporting events, the multipurpose facility now features a two-sided LED video marquee display that entertains visitors and passers-by and informs them of upcoming happenings.
"The new digital billboard displays offer a significant technology upgrade from what we had before," said Ron Melnyk, senior vice president of sponsorship marketing for Palace Sports and Entertainment, manager of The Palace. "The displays offer us a greater, more flexible revenue source and a much more dynamic medium through which to promote our events."
"We are pleased to continue our business relationship with the Pistons and The Palace of Auburn Hills," said Will Ellerbruch, regional sales manager for Daktronics. "We're also pleased to hear that the team has exceeded their revenue projections by a considerable margin and expects an even shorter payback period on the investment in equipment. These types of digital displays and digital networks can be a very important marketing component, generating additional ticket sales and greater corporate-partner activation."
The two-sided Valo OT digital billboard display measures more than 31 feet wide and 21 feet high and features better viewing angles, high brightness, enhanced contrast, low power-consumption and a high-density pixel configuration for close-up viewing.
