Helius installs digital signage for Canopy Group

July 18, 2007

LINDON, Utah — Helius Inc. announced it has installed a comprehensive digital signage solution for the Canopy Group in its flagship building, Canopy 1. Helius technology powers a 42-inch LCD screen in the main lobby and 17-inch LCD screens in each of the elevators.

The Canopy Group is an investment firm headquartered in Lindon, Utah. It serves as the parent company of various technology companies.

Digital signage content is updated automatically throughout the day from various sources. Building managers can update content from their desktop. Cushman Wakefield, the building manager, is planning to use the signage solution as a primary communication tool to employees of the tenant companies, alerting them to building closures, repairs and other issues that affect their daily routines.

The digital signs installed in the elevators draw their power from the elevator and receive content over a wireless link. These screens show a regularly-updated collection of news and information videos with audio tracks.

"The response to this new communication tool has been very positive," said Gerald Garbe, operations director for Canopy Properties. "We are examining a number of additional uses for the Helius solution to improve our tenants' experience in our other buildings."
