Harness Technology Inc., a provider of online solutions to the AV industry, recently announced the launch of ACA Signage HTML5 cloud-based digital signage in the United States.
The ACA Signage HTML5 cloud-based solution comes out of of Sydney, Australia, and the online technology and signage control medium does not require a proprietary software download or timely updates, according to the company. The solution also can work over legacy or new media hardware. ACA Signage's cloud technology allows content to be managed, delivered and played over the Internet using the highly non-restrictive HTML5 protocol and standards.
"ACA Signage is the next step in digital signage technology," said Marty Raymond, founder of Harness Technology, in the announcement. "HTML5 is a powerful Internet medium, and I think the industry is only just beginning to become aware of what Steve Jobs called the technology 'the world is moving to.' It's non-proprietary ... There are no downloads, updates or high graphic requirements. It is low-power consumption, which is ideal for digital signage. You can take any size graphic, expand or minimize it without any loss of quality or resolution. All in all, it's a 'solution' in the very sense of the word."
ACA Signage also features website embedding of signage content, global screen savers for corporate use and unlimited scalability with the ability to have more than 1,000 displays on one system.
