Golf club using digital signage to keep members up to par

April 18, 2013

A Birmingham, Ala., golf club has deployed a new multiscreen private digital signage network from Highlands Digital Media, according to an announcement from Highlands.

To provide dynamic communication with members, Greystone Golf and Country Club enlisted Highlands, a provider of digital signage and private network solutions for retail, food service, health care and corporate clients, to install the network, according to a news release.

Network programming is administered by the club and is used as a central command post, Ashley Fuentes, membership marketing director, said in the release, and helps the club inform members and guests about group or corporate meetings and upcoming events such as weddings and golf or tennis tournaments. It also reminds members and staff about planned facility improvements and maintenance, she said.

"Members have responded positively to the cleaner, more modern approach of sharing information," Fuentes said. The network can also run photographs of new members, she added, which helps ensure they’re recognized and welcomed to the community.

"I appreciate the new informational screens we have installed at both clubhouses," club member Larry Daughety said. "Sometimes I miss seeing important messages in our monthly news bulletin, so I have become dependent on viewing the screens to see up-to-date engaging information about all happenings at Greystone. It is nice to enter the lobby at each clubhouse without seeing the clutter of paper brochures. The network keeps more members in the loop on club business matters, and that is important in a large community."
