GestureTek teams with beacon tech provider Ap1 to beacon-enhanced gesture-controlled signage at GlobalShop15

GestureTek Systems Inc., a provider of gesture-driven user interface technology and displays, will be showcasing its immersive gesture responsive media display — the ScreenXtreme system — in an entirely new way by partnering with Ap1, a provider of beacon technology, according to an announcement from the companies.

This partnership is intended to enhance the display system by enabling real-time response capabilities, micro-positioning and social profiling for connectivity to both the customer's smartphone and the display content, the announcement said. Retailers and brand managers can see this partnership in action at the Future of Retail Centre Piece Exhibit at GlobalShop 2015, the annual North American event for retail design and shopper marketing.

"GestureTek has delivered thousands of gesture-controlled displays to retail clients, because our robust systems provide a high degree of customer engagement that keeps customers in store longer, and wanting to come back more often," GestureTek CEO Vincent John Vincent said in the announcement. "By teaming up with Ap1, the leader in innovative beacon solutions, we can now also deliver specialized connectivity and communication with those customers."

AP1's technology enables hyper-local customer engagement that drives real-time measureable results. Its multisided platform utilizes a patented Master Beacon and a proprietary operating system to provide retailers with the toolsets to manage their space by delivering personalized content, offers and promotions to a user's smartphone based on a user's profile and location.
