Gas Station TV recently announced that the latest Nielsen Pocketpieces report shows GSTV exceeding 26 million monthly Nielsen-verified fueling impressions, and that next month's report will reflect GSTV's climb to 27 million monthly impressions via new stations coming online this week.
GSTV says it is the only gas station media company investing in independent third-party auditing, making it more popular with advertisers, and it appears that the company was able to get Nielsen officials to go on record singing its praises.
"Gas Station TV continues to demonstrate its leadership in away-from-home television measurement," Nielsen Media Research senior vice president Paul Lindstrom said in the release. "GSTV pioneered not only measurement in the gas digital media space, but individual market measurement for all Nielsen On Location companies."
GSTV's Pocketpiece reports are presented in a format common to all Nielsen-measured networks, including traditional television networks. The reports define standard Nielsen-provided analytics to support the planning, buying and post-buy evaluation of the GSTV network.
"Now that the media economy is back, we have an opportunity to redefine the way we interact within our community," GSTV chief sales officer Jason Brown said in a release. "This time around we should recognize not to take ourselves too seriously and celebrate with clients, agencies, creatives and even our competitors. What better way to do this than through Beer Pong, a band, BBQ, a live graffiti show, and 500 media folks – all of which are excited to express the joy in the business."
Ad industry professionals who are interested in attending or forming a beer pong team may request registration atnyrsvp@gstv.com.
According to GSTV, the invitational will be filmed as a pilot episode for a new beer pong tour reality show series, and officials from BPONG.COM, the official governing body of beer pong and "the Center of the Beer Pong Universe," will be on hand to run the tournament, keep track of scoring and give out a grand prize to the winning team.
