Exceptional 3D, provider of no-glasses 3D displays, today announced what it says is "the world's first" autostereoscopic 3D Open Pluggable Specification-compliant display product line.

The OPS standard is intended to help standardize the design and development of digital signage devices and pluggable media players. The OPS is designed to aid the digital signage market by making installation, operation, maintenance and upgrading easier.

"The future of digital signage playback of content is all-in-one display and OPS," Exceptional 3D COO Dan Fischer said in the announcement. "OPS allows for faster deployment of interchangeable systems, and that also translates to bringing down the cost for production and deployment.

"The OPS device presents a convenient solution that integrates easily with our 3D products. With pluggable media players built into the display, scalable 3D digital signage is a cost-effective solution where there is no longer a need for additional cables or power supply. The convenience of the OPS design supports future-proof digital signage that can play back both 2D and 3D content."

The company's 3D OPS product line features several 3D display size options. The 3D display sizes supporting OPS currently include 32, 46 and 55 inches, and, for the first time, an 85-inch 4K glasses-free 3D display. The new 85-inch 4K 3D display supports 16 viewing zones, pluggable media player and is priced at an MSRP of $24,999, the company said. Exceptional 3D also said it has a "high-bright" 85-inch 4K 3D display for large-format outdoor 3D digital signage.
