Five Faces, a producer of digital signage and menu boards, has released Entertain, a plug and play media player for businesses that want do-it-yourself digital signage to save costs for consultants or managed services, according to an email from the company.

"We at Five Faces have been in the white-glove Enterprise market for digital signage for over a decade and have blue-chip customers across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and more," Nandini Pasbola, marketing and product manager, Five Faces, said in an email to Digital Signage Today. "The idea behind launching Entertain was to fill the gap in the market for SME and larger companies who want to keep their signage simple, self-operated and low cost."

Key features of Entertain include:

  • No software subscription fee. The player comes with software and customers can pay a one-time fee for ownership for the life of the device.
  • It is fast moving and plug-and play, giving customers flexibility in choice of displays.
  • Similar to Enterprise solutions, customers can get central, remote management and the ability to control unlimited displays from one account.
  • The interface is user friendly and sharp, making it easier to self-manage.

"This makes it great for customers who have multiple cafes, stores and offices in different locations," Pasbola said.

Five Faces, founded in 2008 in Darra, Australia, also produces interactive kiosks, software apps, wayfinding solutions and more.
