Embed digital signage upgrades support for Samsung Smart Signage Platform

The company said popular demand led it to focus on developing improvements to its platform to further enhance support for the SSSP.

Eclipse Digital Media's embed digital signage has launched what it's calling "major updates" for its support of the Samsung Smart Signage Platform.

The company said popular demand led it to focus on developing improvements to its platform to further enhance support for the SSSP.

New features include:

  • Landscape, portrait, reverse portrait, reverse landscape video playback;
  • Playback of two videos simultaneously in landscape;
  • Source input reliability improvement;
  • Touch device including gesture improvements;
  • Improved channel publishing efficiency;
  • Remote firmware updating for all firmware versions (main, sub, sub2, mystique); and
  • Improved status reporting including device temperature (°C) and CPU.

"SSSP has become an extremely popular platform with nearly 40 percent of all devices registered to embed signage being a SSSP display," said Daniel Cruickshank, head of SSSP development at embed signage, in the announcement. "With this type of demand we will continue to make improvements to the platform and introduce new product features over the coming weeks and months."

The company also said the SSSP V3 E Series displays are now supported. following on from the improvements to the D Series SSSP Displays with embed signage. The new SSSP updates were set to be published on Sept. 10. Existing users can reboot their devices with a working network connection to get the new changes, the company said.
