Eclipse Digital Media has announced the launch of embedsignage V4, the latest version of its digital signage content management system.

The company said it has listening "very closely" to what its users have been saying and based on their feedback — along with some of its own ideas — the company has made what it says are "major" improvements to its cloud-based digital signage software.

Ty Howden, technical director at embedsignage.com, said the company has "an aggressive development roadmap," and the new release is a step forward on that map. "We are always taking customer feedback on board to help shape the product features, and we believe this latest software version will enable our users to create much more dynamic and creative digital signage content, with a low educational curve," he said.

Some of the upgraded platform's new features include:

• An improved user interface;
• Consistent design throughout;
• Ability to assign channels and folders directly in devices;
• Thumbnail previews for layouts;
• Ability to make any layout a template;
• Direct links to latest player apps on dashboard;
• Improved layout builder;
• Drag-and-drop control panel;
• Zoom-in/-out function;
• Conditional playback of content based on time of day, day of the week, and specific dates and temperatures; and
• Improved touch interactions including gestures.
