DV Signage location-aware players take digital signage on the road

January 12, 2012

Digital signage and digital out-of-home specialist DV Signage Inc. today announced the launch of its ViewStream 300GPS. Designed for mobile public information and digital advertising applications, the ViewStream 300GPS enables the automatic triggering of specific videos and images according to real-time GPS data.

This small, easy-to-use professional-grade media player has an integrated GPS receiver that updates its internal geographic coordinates as it moves from location to location, according to the company. Longitude and latitude data is automatically retrieved and displayed on an LED readout. This information can then be used to pre-program specific videos or still images to play at any point during a journey.

The ViewStream 300GPS offers solid state reliability, is designed for the low-power transport environment and comes in a tough, easy-to-install enclosure with a three-year warranty, DV Signage said. It is supplied with a simple playlist creation tool (DV-Studio) and is updated using USB.

"The ViewStream GPS is an exciting, yet low cost and practical way to replace static advertising and public information signage with full-motion video or location-specific content, in a wide variety of transit systems," said Dusty Perryman, the company's director of sales, in the announcement.

DV Signage will be showing the ViewStream 300GPS at ISE 2012, in Amsterdam from Jan. 31-Feb. 2, in Hall 9 B138.
