DSE session to focus on 'phygital'

Digital Signage Expo, a digital signage trade show, will feature a session entitled, "Let's Get Phygital" by Ed King, vice president of strategy and Laura Davis-Taylor, executive vice president of customer experience at MaxMedia. The session will discuss how the dividing lines between physical and digital retail are blurring, according to a press release.

The presentation will take place on Mar. 29 at 2 p.m. and will cover key questions on phygital such as:

  • Shoppers' expectations for retail experiences;
  • Strategies to integrate physical and digital; and
  • The importance of big data and the Internet of Things.

"As brick-and-mortar retailers continue to compete with the ease, selection, price and convenience of online shopping, it's become more important than ever to make the store a compelling experience," said Davis-Taylor. "But it's hard. Retail has been stuck in its ways for many, many years and partly to blame is a general industry-wide aversion to change."
