DOOH pulling into Melbourne with APN Outdoor railway digital signage

March 16, 2012

Australian outdoor advertising operator APN Outdoor announced today that it has secured the exclusive rights to sell the country's first digital out-of-home cross platform rail signage in Melbourne's CBD loop stations.

Over the coming months, the company will be deploying 34 screens at Melbourne Central, Parliament Station and Flagstaff Station, with a combined potential audience at these stations of more than 100,000 commuters per working day, the company said.

Each LED screen measures 1.5 meters by 2.6 meters and is located on the walls directly opposite the platform, providing a captive audience for advertisers. Advertisers have the option of full animation as well as the added benefit of sound. Passengers can also interact with the screens via their mobile phone.

"APN Outdoor continues to expand its digital screen network, and these latest cross platform digital assets provide advertisers with the ability to reach a highly valued commuter audience with different creative messages across the day and even across different markets," said Richard Herring, CEO of APN Outdoor, in the announcement.

The new digital screens at will be available to advertisers starting May 1.
