DISE preloading AOPEN digital signage players

Sweden-based DISE International AB, in cooperation with Taiwan-based AOPEN Inc., has created digital signage player software tailored to the AOPEN MEP320 and AOPEN DE6140 media players.

Sweden-based DISE International AB, in cooperation with Taiwan-based AOPEN Inc., has created digital signage player software tailored to the AOPEN MEP320 and AOPEN DE6140 media players, according to a company announcement.

These products are designed to cover a broad range of installations and scenarios, from low- to high-end, the company said, and both of the players can be delivered with the DISE software preinstalled for easy setup.

The AOPEN MEP320 is an Android-based media player and is included in the new DISE product package called "DISE Smart," aimed at customer looking for an affordable solution to display basic content but without losing some of the advanced features of a digital signage system.

The AOPEN DE6140 is a Windows-based signage player and is included in the new DISE product package called "DISE Premium," aimed at customers interested in advanced content with many simultaneous, dynamic messages, the company said. It's designed to be a signage player suitable for video walls, synchronized messages and interactive presentations.

"I'm convinced that these Android and Windows combinations of AOPEN hardware and DISE software will be commercially and technically beneficial to our mutual clients," said Anthony Gerrits, sales director for AOPEN Europe, in the announcement. "Our Digital Engine media players such as the DE6140 are extensively tested by DISE ensuring a full compatibility. On a more device-specific operating system such as Android this testing process is even more critical. To facilitate an easy installation process our hardware can be preloaded with DISE software to save time and therefore costs as well. To further support our clients we also made sure that our application engineers have a high level of knowledge not only of our own hardware but also the DISE software package."

The products are set to run through a cloud-based interface but also are supported with DISE Composer for customers wanting to add their own unique templates and content, tickers and other file formats. The products are delivered as software-as-a-service products, the company said.
