A Texas city is reviewing its sign ordinance and mulling how and where digital signs should be allowed.

Katy, a Houston, Texas suburb, held a public workshop to discuss the use of digital signs following a local business' request to install one, according to a Yahoo report.

The review was initiated by Mayor Pro Tem Gina Hicks and Paul Follis, a council member, and no decisions were made during the workshop.

"I wanted to just take a look at what our sign ordinance was and if it made sense and also get transparent, public feedback on where the community stands on this sign ordinance and what changes they are for or they are against," Hicks said after the workshop, according to the Yahoo report..

The city's sign rules were last amended 17 years ago to allow LED backlit or internally lit signs.
