Digital signage used to raise breast cancer awareness

May 9, 2016

Cieslok Media, a Canadian provider of large-format outdoor advertising, has partnered with Rethink Breast Cancer, a Canadian nonprofit organization that brings breast cancer awareness to young people, according to a press release from Cieslok Media.

With the support of Cieslok digital out-of-home network, Rethink's message is showcased on large displays. Cieslok Media claims the message will be well-received, with seven in 10 of surveyed consumers agreeing that digital billboards stand out more than any other media.

"Out-of-Home cannot be ignored, skipped, or closed; it is designed to captivate, and it is why it makes so much sense to leverage it to support Rethink Breast Cancer, who aims to reach and inform a younger audience," said Jörg Cieslok, president and CEO of Cieslok Media. "With our digital signage network, Rethink Breast Cancer's message is amplified, informing the general public and most importantly, reaching those who are affected by breast cancer and could benefit from the charity's resources."

For the remainder of 2016, Rethink will display its message in key locations such as the Gardiner Expressway. The digital sign is situated on one of Toronto's busiest highways used by thousands of daily commuters, and will reach commuter traffic leaving Toronto toward Highway 427, Mississauga, Oakville and Burlington. In addition, Rethink creative will reach commuters on route to the BMO field, Canadian National Exhibition, Liberty Village and Canada's largest and busiest airport, Pearson International, the release stated.

"We are so grateful to be able to use high-profile, digital displays to amplify our breast health and awareness campaigns," said Alison Lawler-Dean, vice president of Marketing and Communications for Rethink Breast Cancer. "We couldn't make the difference we do in the lives of young people impacted by breast cancer without the support of forward-thinking media partners like Cieslok."
