Digital signage for Chromeboxes powered by Signagelive, IntuiLab partnership

Joint solution meant to transform low-cost Chromeboxes into interactive digital signage devices, companies say.

June 23, 2015

Signagelive, global suppliers of cloud-based digital signage technology, announced it is working in collaboration with IntuiLab, suppliers of a content creation platform for interactive applications, to expand the reach and functionality of Google Chromeboxes for digital signage usage.

According to the announcement, the new partnership should give both companies greater visibility globally and help them secure new opportunities in retail and hospitality markets where interactivity is key.

IntuiLab's content creation platform features multitouch capabilities at its core, enabling users to create highly interactive experiences that can be deployed on any touch-enabled display without needing any HTML5 coding knowledge.

Signagelive is incorporating IntuiLab's multitouch capabilities into its core digital signage platform with optimization for its Signagelive for Chrome offering to create a digital signage solution intended to be low in cost to deploy and economical to run.

The joint solution will enable digital signage technology users to generate and publish interactive content for a range of digital signage applications. Retailers and their respective content agencies, for example, can create touch-enabled content for displays located strategically around a store to encourage impulse purchasing, the announcement said. This content could then be linked to Signagelive's Proof of Play and proactive monitoring tools that are ultimately connected to EPOS systems, to enhance overall sales activities and measure ROI.

"Being able to add IntuiLab multitouch capabilities to Signagelive for Chrome is a really powerful message for our partners," Signagelive CEO Jason Cremins said in the announcement. "Adding touchscreen functionality increases engagement and user interaction; this incorporated with EPOS and facial recognition applications has the potential to turn low-cost devices into a fully integrated digital signage solution."

"Using touch gestures to interact with content is part of today's digital culture," said Vincent Encontre, CEO of IntuiLab. "We are excited to bring this capability - as well the ability to easily create touch-driven apps without HTML5 coding - to the Signagelive platform for any Google Chrome OS-powered device."

Signagelive for Chrome provides full support for all content formats including static images, HD video, Web pages, IPTV, multizoning for different media types, image layering, RSS feeds, portrait support and screen on and off control, the company said.
