Digi International launches Digi IX14 LTE router

Digi International recently launched its Digi IX14 LTE router for utility, smart city and kiosk applications. The device also comes with a 1-year subscription to Digi Remote Manager to help digital signage users, retailers and others, according to a press release.

The company built the device to provide affordable low bandwidth service to its users, according to the release. Its Ethernet and serial port can link to a single internet-of-things sensor or connected virtually to a network of sensors. Other features include:

• Supports 3G fallback for North America.
• Has MIL-STD-810G certification for shock, vibration and temperature.
• Has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

"The next generation of industrial connectivity is not just about hardware, but also provides insights into operational efficiency and security," Scott Nelson, vice president, products, Digi, said in the release. "Whether an outdoor digital signage company, a financial services organization with a distributed network of outdoor ATMs, or a utilities operator that needs data communication with remote SCADA sites, Digi IX14 provides outstanding connectivity along with in-depth device and network understanding through tight integration with Digi Remote Manager."
