ComQi's digital signage software now compatible with BrightSign media player

ComQi's EnGage digital signage platform is now compatible with BrightSign's high-bandwidth digital content protection-compliant XT1143 media player. The platform can use this media player to drive encrypted cable TV signals through displays in waiting rooms, restaurants and other places, according to a press release.

HDCP is a digital copy protection technology that enables companies to run cable TV on digital signage networks securely. ComQi uses subscription feeds to improve customer experience for customers in the waiting room.

"Working with BrightSign allows us to meet a request we get regularly from customers for a solution that properly delivers and blends commercial TV signals with digital signage content," Max Stevens-Guille, CTO for ComQi, said in the release. "By using BrightSign's players, we know we're keeping our clients on the right side of copyright protection laws, and doing it using very solid, highly respected hardware."
