Comark will be exhibiting at the public transportation showcase American Public Transportation Association Expo in Houston, Texas from Oct. 13-15, the company announced.
The Massachusetts-based kiosk and display provider will feature the TK470, a 47-inch interactive transit kiosk, and introduce the new MK470, a 47-inch outdoor interactive kiosk. New York City Metropolitian Transporation Authority uses the TK470 kiosk for its "On The Go" travel station program. The TK 470 project, a collaborative effort with technology and design company Control Group, won the Digital Screenmedia Association 2014 Award of Excellence for "Best Travel/Hospitality Self-Service Interactive Kiosk."
New York-based Control Group will join Comark at the APTA Expo to feature its digital information system as part of Comark kiosks used for the New York City MTA. The platform offers a digital advertising revenue option for transit companies and is designed to enhance wayfinding and communication for riders, Comark said.
The New York City subway system has installed 100 of the TK470 kiosks, designed to withstand harsh environments such as unmonitored areas, brake dust, high temperatures and heavy use. The stainless steel station features a multi-touch and gesture touchscreen, built-in computer, health monitor and vandalism detection.
The outdoor MK470 kiosk is designed for transit station entrances, malls, parking lots and other areas in direct sunlight or subject to rain and snow. It's high bright display provides sunlight readability and includes a thermal management sysem.
