Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO) is celebrating the Black History Month theme for 2022 of "Health and Wellness" by running digital displays spotlighting Black leaders at the forefront of fostering and advancing health and wellness within the Black community, according to a company press release.

In addition, the promotion will highlight the role historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) play in educating many of the country's Black doctors and healthcare providers.

The campaign is conducted in collaboration with the company's employee Executive Diversity Advisory Committee (EDAC). Rory Short, regional creative leader, CCO-Northern California, designed the digital creative and the typeface and fonts were designed by black type designers, according to the release.

Additional persons and moments honored in CCO's digital network and social platforms include: Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, who performed the nation's first open-heart surgery; Dr. Charles R. Drew, who pioneered the nation's life-saving blood donation program; Dr. Jane C. Wright, chemotherapy researcher; Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller, the first African American psychiatrist; Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black female physician in the U.S.; Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, who helped develop a COVID vaccine; and Dr. Joycelyn Elders, the first black surgeon general.
