Chicago rolling out digital signage train trackers

August 10, 2012

According ChicagoNow's I(Blog)Chicago blog, Chicago Transit Authority President Forrest Claypool says the city's train commuters can expect for every CTA station to get a digital signage "train tracker" display in the next year:

CTA's goal is to put a digital display that will feature the Train Tracker and other CTA notifications in all stations within a year. So far, the Green and Pink Lines' Morgan/Lake station as well as the Yellow Line's Oakton station are already equipped with the new digital displays.

So far, there are a few stations that have Train Trackers, such as the Sox/35th stop along the Green Line and the Clark/Lake station.

Some CTA bus stops feature the Bus Tracker displays, which have been available for years; however, the Train Tracker was introduced last year.
