The Carolina Baksetball Museum, located on the University of North Carolina campus in Chapel Hill, has deployed a 2.8-millimeter FlexTour LED display from PixelFlex. The display is 16-feet wide by 9-feet tall and features a NovaStar A8s receiving card for flicker-free presentation, according to a press release.
The Museum selected the display because it aimed to improve its overall branding and replace an older concave display. The display is made of 500 by 1,000-millimeter tiles, which are all front serviceable and come with climbing ladders for easy access.
PixelFlex attached the video panels to a header bar hanging from the ceiling. It also provided the Advent content management system for the display.
"When fans now walk through the doors of the Carolina Basketball Museum there is an immediate feeling that you are about to have a great experience," Davy Fisher, design principal, Advent, said in the release."The old projection system had a lot of light-loss which translated into a diminished experience. With a feature that needs to be so bright and so vibrant, the FLEXTour LED video is a significant upgrade. Being the first thing you see when you walk into the space, it presents as a wonderful showcase for the UNC athletes and the quality of their program."
