California State University gives stadium digital signage makeover
California State University partnered with Daktronics to deploy a double-sided centerhung system and audio system at its Icardo Center stadium. It consists of two LED video displays, each measuring 9.5-feet high by 16.5 feet wide, according to a press release.
The LED displays feature 6-millimeter line spacing to offer clear images to the entire stadium. Daktronics integrated content zoning into the displays to allow the stadium to show one large image or different content on various parts of the displays such as live video, instant replays and graphics.
In addition to the centerhung, Daktronics also deployed six digital LED scorers tables, measuring 2-feet high and 6-feet wide. The company integrated a custom audio system into the video and scoring system to offer full-range sound for the stadium.
"We are extremely pleased with our new state-of-the-art high-definition video board, our new sound system and digital tables. It has been fun to see the Icardo Center transform in the last couple years and we have more to come in the near future. I firmly believe that the Icardo Center provides a first-class experience for our fans and a huge home court advantage for our team," Kenneth Siegfried, director of athletics, California State University, said in the release.
