BroadSign launches Creator software for custom content

November 22, 2009

BroadSign has announced the newest update to BroadSign Creator, a Web-based add-on to its digital signage platform. Named Creator 1.2, the system allows users to design custom content for playback on their digital signage networks.

BroadSign said that Creator will be featured and shown at Digital Signage Expo, held Feb. 23-25 in Las Vegas.

According to a news release from BroadSign, Creator 1.2 has a new customizable user interface, internalization and a wider array of functionality than previous versions.

Those functionalities include Adobe Flash and video support, which allows videos to be uploaded and previewed in-browser with a low-resolutiono streaming preview. Videos can be added to a loop as simple fullscreen messages, or they can be added as a layer to an existing message composed of any number of Flash, image and text layers.

The system also supports instant emergency messaging, where the user can trigger inserted full-screen messages over the entire network. Emergency messages can be built in advance, thereby minimizing the time it takes to activate a message when an emergency occurs.

A new content-approval feature also has been added. With more network administrators giving control to those on a local level, the approval system allows the approval of any content before it actually runs on the network. An e-mail-notification system automatically informs each party when actions take place.
