Brite Lite Media Group of Marion, Ohio, has installed its first digital billboard, a 12-foot by 24-foot, 19mm board manufactured by Watchfire Digital Outdoor, according to an announcement from Watchfire.
The board is on the corner of S. Prospect and W. Church streets in Marion, a town of 38,000 residents about 50 miles north of Columbus.
The billboard was installed by Marion businessman Mike Zucker as a way to help promote Marion businesses, according to the announcement. Zucker teamed with the Marion Chamber of Commerce to offer members favorable pricing during Marion's annual Popcorn Festival, and has put up "Welcome" messages for new businesses moving into the area.
"My goal is to make the billboard affordable for local businesses, and to keep rates comparable to static billboards," Zucker said in the announcement. "This is a boost to Marion's small downtown business community."
