BrightSign has integrated its portfolio of media players with BlueFox.io's real-time mobile phone sensing technology. The solution, known as BlueFox for BrightSign uses mobile phone signals to measure foot traffic, according to a press release.
BlueFox's analytics solution enables BrightSign's media players to detect mobile phones without any special apps or logins. It also does not gather any sensitive information and is compliant with the European Union's GDPR regulations, according to the release.
Retailers and DOOH operators can use the solution to detect foot traffic, monitor queue time, alert staff and guide the path to purchase.
"BlueFox's ability to count new and returning visitors, along with dwell time, by honing-in on the smartphone and not the individual, is a natural extension of our mission to enable digital signage with technology that’s valuable to our retail customers," Jeff Hastings, CEO, BrightSign, said in the release. "Adding BlueFox foot-traffic analytics as an option to our media players is an important addition to the BrightSign value proposition, and we expect our customers to eagerly embrace this new technology."
