The Chicago division of the Better Business Bureau has awarded Clear Channel Outdoor Americas with the Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. The award is designed for companies that operate with high ethical standards in the Chicago area, according to a press release.
Clear Channel used its billboards to raise awareness on non-profit causes in the Chicago area such as American Red Cross blood drives. The company was also dedicated to following ethical practices through employee training, workplace safety and transparency, according to the release.
"The Torch Award is the premier award the BBB can present to a company," Steve J. Bernas, president and CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois, said in the release. "Torch Award winners demonstrate the highest ethical standards of trust and behavior toward customers, business partners, shareholders, employees, and the communities in which they do business."
