Barrick upgrades corporate communication with displays, AV system

Sept. 29, 2017

Barrick, a global mining company, has upgraded its corporate conference room with displays and an AV system from Advanced. The company provided one interactive 34 feet wide by 5 feet high Prysm display and an 84-inch 4K Prism display, according to a release.

Barrick can access Prysm's cloud to create and share content as well as collaborate on the interactive display. Advanced also upgraded Barrick's video conferencing system with the Cisco SX80, which comes with dual cameras and speaker tracking functions. The system has Cisco Touch 10 control interface and a Creston control processing and digital media system.

In addition, Advanced provided two MX910 ceiling microphones, which are designed to pick up voices from anywhere in the room and transmit them clearly. Users can also mute their microphone using the Crestron control system.

"Together with the Prysm implementation team, we have trained Barrick’s senior IT leaders and its employees to use the system with ease," Mark McPherson, executive vice president of Advanced, said in the release. "Our goal is to get employees as comfortable with the technology as possible. But with a video collaboration system this intuitive and user-friendly, that certainly won’t be difficult to achieve."
