Axiomtek, designers and manufacturers of PC-based industrial computer products, has launched the OPS883, its latest OPS digital signage player based on the fourth-generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3 and Celeron processor Haswell Refresh with the Intel Q87 Express chipset.

According to the company's announcement, the Intel OPS architecture signage player enables digital signage manufacturers to simplify installation, maintenance and deployment at low cost. The player supports 4K UHD content, dual display, real-time audio and video, the company said. The OPS player also is equipped with one 2.5-inch HDD tray and one optional mSATA interface for storage, one PCI Express Mini Card slot for graphics-enhanced video cards, wireless LAN card and 3G/LTE modules. One SO-DIMM DDR3 socket supports system memory up to 8 GB. It also comes with Intel Active Management Technology 9.0, which simplifies the integration process while offering convenient remote diagnosis and reducing maintenance costs, the company said.

The open pluggable specification-compliant module is connected to an OPS-compliant display via a standardized JAE TX-25 plug connector that supports HDMI, DisplayPort, UART, audio, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 signals. The OPS883 comes with a gigabit LAN port, an RS-232 port, one HDMI interface, one USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports on the front panel. The front panel HDMI allows 4 K resolutions, the company said. The media player will be available in early September.
