March 4, 2008
EXTON, Pa. — Scala Inc. has announced that Scala Certified Partner, IDS Menus, successfully installed its digital menu board system at the Audubon Zoo, located in New Orleans, La. Audubon Zoo is part of the Audubon Nature Institute, which is comprised of a family of museums and parks dedicated to nature. Eleven different facilities are run by the Institute including the Audubon Park and Audubon Zoo. Four 46-inch LCD screens were installed on wall mounts in the food court area. Two of the screens are dedicated to promoting menu selections in the Zoofari Café, while the other two screens display animal videos and facts. Alternating with the animal videos are animated promotions of snack items, enticing visitors to purchase food items at the cafe.
"The decision to upgrade from a traditional menu system to a digital one was easy, due to the graphic flexibility and the ability to change menu items and prices instantly," said Terry Kenney, director of graphics for the Audubon Nature Institute.
