AU Optronics acquires ComQi

ComQi Inc., a content management software provider, has been acquired by AU Optronics Corp, a Taiwan-based provider of digital signage displays. AUO recorded $11.5 billion in sales in 2017, primarily from its LCD displays, according to a press release.

With this acquisition, ComQi can offer a full range of digital signage hardware, software and professional services. AUO provides a number of products including 1.1 to 85-inch LCDS and 4K offerings.

"Display is a key element in digital signage projects. With ComQi now an AUO company, customers have direct access to high quality screen technology and a very competitive product portfolio," Stuart Armstrong, group president of ComQi, said in the release. "We think that is going to be good for the market, and good for our clients."

ComQi will continue to operate as a separate business group from AUO, according to the release.
