Arbitron to measure audience for social music TV network Akoo

Arbitron Inc. announced that it has signed an agreement with social music television network, Akoo, to deliver audience estimates. This service will provide Akoo with audience estimates to demonstrate the reach and frequency of its network to advertisers. Akoo is nationally deployed in social out-of-home environments, including premium shopping malls and leading universities.

"Our mission is evangelizing social music television and making it the most valuable interactive out-of-home advertising category," said Niko Drakoulis, CEO, Akoo. "Marrying audience estimates with consumer insights will provide our advertisers with the necessary accountability metrics and redefine the opportunity for brands to connect with consumers through branded entertainment."

"One of the barriers to large-scale media buys in place-based media has been the lack of standardized metrics," said Pierre Bouvard, executive vice president, cross-platform services, Arbitron. "Advertisers require quantifiable estimates to have confidence in placing their media buys. Today's consumer is always on the move and their media exposure continues throughout the day.
