Almo E4AV training tour heads for San Franscisco

April 16, 2013

Audio-visual distributor Almo Professional A/V is partnering with InfoComm International to bring the E4 training and networking tour to San Francisco. The free one-day event, dubbed E4 San Francisco, is set for April 25, and all of the educational courses will provide InfoComm International CTS RUs.

Almo conducted a similar inaugural event less than a month ago in Chicago. E4 San Francisco will feature hundreds of products from more than 35 manufacturers, according to an Almo news release, including new additions Elo Touch Systems, Hiperwall, Peerless AV, TouchSystems, Rane Corporation, Samsung Hospitality and more.

"The E4 event (in Chicago) was a great opportunity to hear about new trends and see new gear," said Terry McCarthy of Advanced Systems & Technologies. "The opening session was super informative. It was also a great way to expose a new employee of mine to the world of pro A/V."

New products to be shown at E4 San Francisco include:

  • Planar's 84-inch 4K resolution display and FourSquare mosaic architectural video wall sculpture, made up of different sized LCD video tiles
  • BrightSign's XD media players that bring Live HDTV to signage using an ATSC/Clear QAM tuner or HDMI input
  • Sharp's AQUOS LC-70LE650U 70-inch LED smart TV and LC-80LE857U 80-inch LED smart TV with Quattron color technology
  • LG's live demo/test drive station of its Ez Sign content creation/CMS system

In addition, the Samsung booth will feature Raffi Vartian, COO of SignageLive, a cloud-based media delivery and support company, who will demonstrate the new Samsung SoC technology.

And Samsung will hold hourly demos of the Samsung Smart School Solution, a fully integrated, interactive learning platform that empowers educators and helps re-engage K-12 students with Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 tablets and interactive whiteboard displays. Samsung will also give away a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet during the conference.

Gary Kayye, founder of rAVe Publications, will kick off E4 San Francisco with a keynote address based on his "Kayye's Krystal Ball" annual column, which outlines industry trends that affect resellers, manufacturers and integrators.

The complete E4 San Francisco educational schedule will divided into tracks covering emerging technology, technical knowledge and business savvy to help attendees navigate through the day.

E4 San Francisco will be held at the South San Francisco Conference Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is free, including parking, to Almo Pro A/V’s reseller, integrator and consultant partners. To register, go to http://www.e4avtour.com/. The E4 AV program will be accessible on demand during and after each event for instructor videos, copies of the course presentations and live Twitter updates.
