Advertima raises $17M for in-store AI learning

August 6, 2020

Advertima, a computer vision platform provider, has raised $17.58 million in a funding round. It will use this funding to develop its machine learning and AI platform called the Human Data Layer, which visually interprets human behavior in spaces. This platform in turn works with Advertima's other solutions such as digital signage content, smart inventory management and autonomous checkout, according to a press release.

The company's first goal is to expand into the grocery vertical and help craft smarter environments while boosting revenue. It has already deployed its Human Data Layer solution at Migros, a retailer and Switzerland and international grocer SPAR.

"We see a world where the physical and digital layers are merged to enhance our daily professional and private lives," Iman Nahvi, CEO and co-founder, Advertima, said in the release. "Advertima's Human Data Layer will be one of the irreplaceable components in this whole ecosystem of applications and technologies that will build the foundation of our future lives."
