The digital signage solutions provider Adtraxion Systems has released a small digital signage player that complies with open pluggable specifications. The Dutch company announced its new Adtraxion Om Player during its third Adtraxion Adtnet Member Event 2013.
According to a news release, the event included a live demo of the player, which allows integrators to deploy system solutions more quickly with high serviceability. Adtraxion Systems partnered with Advantech to develop the new model.
"Digital signage integrators (will) enjoy the simplified installation," Adtraxion Director Hans Ketterings said in the release. "They only have to slide (it) into the display slot, without the necessity of any power and video cabling. And thanks to the partnership with Advantech, the Adtraxion Om Player is poised to offer the same reliability our partners are used to from us."
Intel Corp. developed the Open Pluggable Specification, which has become an industry-wide standard for the design and development of digital signage players. By complying with the OPS, Adtraxion said, its Om Player effectively lowers deployment and field maintenance costs and simplifies installations. The player also offers low power consumption, the company said, consuming an average of less than 20 watts of power and automatically switching to a low power mode when no playlist is active.
