2016 Rio Games play across DOOH screens

August 10, 2016

U.K.-based outdoor media company Ocean Outdoor has launched its 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games coverage in the U.K. across its full-motion city and roadside out-of-home screens with highlights of inspirational performances featuring team Great Britain competitors, according to a company press release.

In partnership with Team Great Britain, Ocean has scheduled the play-out of full-motion broadcast coverage in exclusive six-minute slots 11 hours every day as the Games are held. The short films are accompanied by content from team Great Britain's Instagram feed, the release said.

Sixteen days of coverage will feature across 98 screens in seven U.K. cities, including The Loop, Signature Outdoor's city center network and key full-motion retail locations in The Grid, the U.K.'s first full-motion city center large-format network, according to the release. Ocean's large-format screens are turning bronze, silver or gold as the medal tally rises.

"Working with Team GB and being recognized as a live streaming platform is a milestone moment for Ocean and digital out of home. Exclusive content from the Olympics in such high impact environments with full broadcast capabilities transforms the way brands are using our medium to reach wider audiences," said Tim Bleakley, CEO of Ocean.
