In video wall projects or in deployments featuring a large number of screens (say, an airport), the power consumption of digital signage displays can become a factor, both in terms of the environment and in terms of total cost of ownership.

At this year's Customer Engagement Technology World in San Francisco, NEC Display Solutions' Keith Yanke talked to DST about recent additions to NEC's display lineup, and about new eco-friendly features, like the carbon footprint meter in its large-format displays.

In those display-heavy deployments, "power consumption is always a factor," Yanke said.
